Racism & the institution: whose job is it anyway?

Join Dr Mahdis Azarmandi in in conversation with Te Waka Pākākano | Office of AVC Māori, Pacific and Equity for a discussion that concerns each and every one of us: whose job is it to combat institutionalised / structural racsim in our institution?

Dr Azarmandi is a Lecturer in the College of Education, Health and Human Development at the University of Canterbury, where she teaches into the new Bachelor for Youth and Community Leadership. A University of Otago alum, Dr Azarmandi’s Doctoral thesis looked at anti-racism and colonial amnesia in Aotearoa New Zealand and Spain.

Her research interests are racism and anti-racism, feminism, intersectionality & decolonization. Dr Azarmandi has taught in the United States, Germany and Denmark and has been involved in social justice organizing in Aotearoa New Zealand, Spain and Germany.
