German language lecturer wins international research prize

Congratulations to Andi Dorrer whose PhD thesis Legitimisation and De-Legitimisation of World War I in German Dramatic Literature was published recently as the first monograph in German Dramatic literature.

Andi unearthed, analysed and embed a whole new text corpus (about 650 texts) into research on WWI literature and into the field of literature and cultural studies on the Weimar Republic.

The result was, that Andi’s PhD thesis won the “Friedrich Ebert Preis” for the best PhD-thesis or Habilitation on the Weimar Republic, which he shares with Lucia Linares (Darwin College, Cambridge, UK).

This is an international prize awarded by the Research Centre on Weimar Republic at the University of Jena, Germany, and its public outlet the Weimarer Republik e.V.
