Biography:
Mr Fernando Curcio Ruigomez is the Spanish Ambassador to New Zealand, with concurrence in Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Kiribati and the Cook Islands.
After completing his studies at the Colegio del Pilar, he graduated in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and started his Diplomatic Career in 1989.
Fernando has been assigned to the Spanish diplomatic representations in Sudan, Paraguay and Zimbabwe. He has been Technical Counselor and Deputy Head of the International Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Director General of Multilateral Fisheries Organizations of the General Secretariat of Maritime Fisheries and Counselor of Foreign Relations in the Permanent Representation of Spain before the European Union.
He also was the Spanish ambassador to Vietnam from September 2009 to 2013.
