European and European Union Studies staff and NCRE held the annual Model EU which welcomed around 135 students to their two-day event. The programme is a model simulation event and included a keynote address by from the Ambassador of the European Union to New Zealand, HE Nina Obermaier.
Spanish staff were joined by over 250 students for their Spanish Immersion Day NCEA Workshop. Students took part in Spanish language sessions, games and the Spanish Dance video project. Mr Juan Lueiro García, the Deputy Head of Mission from the Embassy of Spain, and keynote speaker, Kara Morrison from Tui Tuia Learning Circle, spoke to students during the event.
Japanese department had 390 students from 15 schools across Canterbury join them for their popular NCEA Japanese Workshop. They were joined by Mr Tsuguyoshi Hada, Director of the Consular Office of Japan, and the keynote speaker Ms Krystal Boland. Students took part in the Dance Project video shoot which will be available to view later in the month.
