The team will be rolling out six online learning modules through DevelopMe, with further modules to follow in 2024.
This new, improved form of learning about UC’s regulations ensures all kaimahi staff understand the regulations linked to their roles. Making good decisions and following the University’s processes make the workplace safer and more productive. Most importantly, it aligns with Ngā Uara | Our Values.
These training modules will be introduced in 2023:
Title | Staff type | Launch date |
Privacy Act | All staff | 17 May 2023 |
Doctoral Supervision | Selected academic staff | June 2023 |
Conflict of Interest | All staff | June/July 2023 |
Pastoral Care Code | All staff | August/September 2023 |
Risk at UC | All staff | October 2023 |
Health & Safety Induction | All staff | December 2023 |
What you need to do:
All permanent and fixed term kaimahi staff will be enrolled automatically in relevant modules and will receive an email from DevelopMe with further information.
You will have two weeks to complete each module, which will take about 30–60 minutes. You should not be required to work additional hours to complete the modules. Once completed, these modules won’t need to be repeated for three years.
An automated reminder email will be sent to you within a week of your due date if you have not completed a module. Should you need more time, please contact your line manager.
For further support:
- Accessibility has been at the fore when designing the modules, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. For further assistance, please contact Learning and Development.
- If you need technical resources to access modules, please log a ticket through UC Services.
- If you prefer to complete the modules in a different environment than your office or have further questions, you can join a drop-in session here>

Thanks in advance for your cooperation as we will build capability within UC and ensure we are working at best practice across the University.
Ngā mihi,
