Monstrous Heroes and Heroic Monsters in the Teece Museum

On April 8th at the Arts Centre, 3 Hereford St, Patrick O’Sullivan of UC Classics gave an invited talk to Canterbury members of the NZ Association of Classical Teachers: ‘Monstrous Heroes and Heroic Monsters in the Teece Museum’, with focus on Dionysos, satyrs, Heracles and other figures from Greek myth depicted on artefacts in the collection.

This event was for teachers to experience the latest exhibition at the Teece ‘Meet the Monstrous: Myths and Mortals in Ancient Time”, and hear about opportunities to make the most of the collection in their teaching practice.
