History MA student addresses international conference

Congratulation to History MA student, Cameron Pratt, who presented his paper, ‘“A dreadful affray”: Soldiers and public disturbances in the press during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars’ on 10 September at an international conference on ‘War and Peace in the Age of Napoleon’. Cameron delivered his paper remotely to the conference organised by the Napoleonic and Revolutionary War Graves Charity’s conference, held at the National Army Museum in London. His paper was drawn from some aspects of his MA research on the topic ‘Soldiers and Society: The Identity of the British Army in England during the Napoleonic Wars’, in which he is using press sources to explore the ways in which soldiers were depicted within England during the wars with France in the late-eighteenth and early-nineteenth centuries.
