After a two-year hiatus, the Japanese Programme was able to hold its annual “Hanami” (“flower viewing”) event on campus last Thursday, albeit somewhat smaller than usual due to Covid. The fair weather and flowering cherries in full bloom drew a good gathering of UC Japanese programme members and made for a very successful event. Next year, the Japanese Programme hopes to be joined, as in the past, by people from the wider Japanese community, including the Consul and members of the Consular Office of Japan.
