Invitation for applications: Postdoctoral fellow and PhD candidate

The UC Arts-based research project “Into the Deep: Analysing the Actors and Controversies Driving the Adoption of the World’s First Deep Sea Mining Governance” (Marsden 22-UOC-059) is pleased to invite applications for a Postdoctoral fellow and PhD candidate. The successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary research team from the Department of Political Science and International Relations (POLS) and the Macmillan Brown Centre for Pacific Studies – University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

The project’s teamleader, Associate Professor Pascale Hatcher, said:

“We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, intercultural, research, and organisational skills, as well as experience in doing research in extractive industries in the Global South. Specific expertise in the Pacific Island Countries and mining is an asset. In addition, we are interested in someone who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team and is passionate about social justice issues around mining and development.”
