We kicked off Semester one with Herea tō waka, Welcome Day – a day to welcome new students on campus and to help prepare them for their studies ahead. Campus was buzzing with the excitement from thousands of new students, with UC putting on a range of activities including an Ori-market, live music, fun activations, and information sessions. Arts ran many information sessions across the day, so a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day a success!
We also welcomed our first- and second-year cohorts of Bachelor of Digital Screen with Honours students to the newly refurbished building and digital screen facilities in Ōtākaro, on the Dovedale Campus. New facilities include edit suites, student zone, motion capture suite and Mac and PC labs. Second year students also enjoyed a welcome back mingle with games and the academic team all pitching in to cook sausages on the BBQ and scooping ice-creams on a hot Canterbury summers day!
