On 1st and 2nd November, over 20 Spanish teachers and lecturers from all over Aotearoa New Zealand gathered for the 2024 Professional Development Seminar, “Integrando tecnología, creatividad y bienestar en la clase de español” organized by the UC Spanish Programme and STANZA. The seminar was a success, offering a holistic series of workshops on technology, artificial intelligence, creative writing, and well-being in the Spanish classroom. Participants explored strategies to foster dynamic and balanced learning environments that empower both educators and students.
Special thanks go to Jill Winfield and Joelle Anderson for their outstanding contributions to the event. Gloria Vazquez, from AUT, shared her appreciation: “I extend special thanks to our dear colleagues Victoria Escaip and Wladimir Padilla Silva for organizing such an extraordinary event and for welcoming us all with open arms. I loved and enjoyed every minute!” Adelso Yañez from Otago University added, “I have returned full of energy and already thinking about the next meeting. A very special acknowledgment to our hosts; their warm welcome encourages us to keep going.” It was an event where we were able to discuss strategies to ignite passion, enhance engagement, and cultivate a balanced, future-ready learning experience.
