Join in celebrating UC graduates and the vital role you, as UC staff, have played in their success.
As part of the celebrations from 8-11 April, a street parade is being held in the central city with all April graduates encouraged to attend. You are invited to come and line the streets to cheer graduates on as they process through the central city.
Starting at Hack Circle on the corner of High and Cashel Streets, the graduates will be led by the Nor’west Brass band as they process along Cashel Street, Oxford Terrace and into Victoria Square.
Tumu Tuarua | Vice-Chancellor Professor Cheryl de la Rey will open the parade at Hack Circle. At the end of the parade, we will hear from Tumu Tuarua Kaunihera | Pro-Chancellor Hon Poto Williams, Ōtautahi Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger and UCSA Tumuaki | President Luc Mackay, who will lead a toast to our graduates. Staff are invited to follow the parade to Victoria Square where they can listen to the speeches and join in the celebrations. Food and drink trucks will be located at Victoria Square.
