Media and Communications: Shalabh Chopra Awarded Prestigious Ernst Mach Fellowship

Shalabh Chopra, a PhD candidate at the Department of Media and Communication, has been awarded the Ernst Mach Fellowship by OeAD, Austria, which will facilitate a four-month-long research stay at the Diplomatic Academy, Vienna. Shalabh’s research explores India’s foreign policy narratives in the backdrop of shifting geopolitical dynamics.

Shalabh also presented his research at the prestigious and highly selective British International Studies Association (BISA) conference in June of this year, supported by Faculty of Arts Doctoral Research and Conference Funding, and Routledge Round Table Commonwealth Grant (awarded to Shalabh in 2024).

Shalabh credits his success to all-round support from supervisory team—Professor Natalia Chaban, Associate Professor Jeremy Moses, and Professor Pascaline Winand (College of Europe, Natolin). He also expresses deep gratitude to Professor Donald Matheson, and to the faculty, colleagues, and friends in the Media and Communication department for their consistent intellectual encouragement.
