NCRE hosted their annual postgraduate mini conference

The NCRE was pleased to host their annual postgraduate mini conference on Wednesday morning.

The event marks the end of the NCRE’s research methods course. Congratulations to this year’s graduates and thanks to the NCRE cohort who came along to support them.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday the National Centre for Research on Europe is hosting on campus approximately 60 high school students from around the country.

They are joining us for a European Council Simulation and will be given Member States which they are asked to represent, debating a draft Directive on Climate Change action.

A teacher professional development workshop will be run concurrently, in conjunction with the Aotearoa Social Studies Educators Network.

The EU Ambassador to NZ, Ms Nina Obermaier will be joining the event and presenting a keynote.

The NCRE has run these events around the country for the past seven years and believe they are a great way of enticing students to study at the University of Canterbury.

Many of the assistants of the event (current UC students) have themselves participated in past years.
