NCRE is hosting an intern from the University of Oxford, Rowan Dennett, for the month of August as part of the Oxford Crankstart internship programme. Rowan is assisting Nick Smith with the NCRE’s EU in the Indo-Pacific Jean Monnet Network. In Oxford, Rowan studies Geography, with interests in Geopolitics, Diplomacy, Environmental Governance, and International Development, and has recently interned at the International Whaling Commission as a research auditor. Rowan has experience researching the validity of the ‘Cold War’ framing of relations between the West and China and is looking forward to further exploring the specifics of the EU as an international actor in the Indo-Pacific.
