UC Media and Communication PhD students Mia Angeline, Shalabh Chopra, and Dmitry Romanenko, and UC Media and Communication alumni Dr Daniela Grimberg and MStratCom Francesca Harrison published their research on Global South media framing of Ukraine’s cultural and historical heritage at times of war in the peer-reviewed European Foreign Affairs Review (2025, 3 (4), with Scopus). Demonstrating an interdisciplinary and cross-national research collaboration, their contributions were a part of the Special Section “EU-Ukraine Heritage Diplomacy: Media Narratives and Strategic Communication in the ‘Global South’ co-edited by Professor Natalia Chaban (UC Media and Communication), Professor Svitlana Zhabotynska (Cherkasy National University, Ukraine), Dr Daria Kuznetsova (UC Media and Communication/UC Political Science and International Relations), and Professor Lien Verpoest (KU Leuven, Belgium). The Special Section is one of the key deliverables of the Work Package 5 “Strategic Communication” (led by Professor Chaban with the research centre Public Diplomacy and Political Communication Forum at UC Department of Media and Communication).
